A joint presentation of the City of Winnipeg and the Manitoba Historical Society
The City of Winnipeg is developing a comprehensive Heritage Conservation Management Plan, and we are inviting residents to tell us about what makes Winnipeg so unique. Join us in a discussion about the city’s identity. Take this opportunity to tell us about a place, an object, a tradition or a story that defines your idea of Winnipeg’s heritage.

The decisions we make today will have significant impacts on the kind of city we leave to future generations. What does it mean go green? While going green with recylcing programs and other environmental stewardship programs are important, can we do more? Winnipeg’s long-term plan is focused on enhancing the social, environmental and economic sustainability of our city. Considering all three pillars of sustainability will ensure that the things we value and enjoy in our community and natural environment can be passed on to our children. Striving for a more sustainable city also requires considering the ability of all Winnipeggers to participate in and benefit from the opportunities of our city, and the ability of current and future generations to afford to live here.

Bringing together Winnipeg’s businesses, institutions and public sector organizations, this network will make it easier to obtain goods and services that support sustainability. This action will result in a new and progressive sustainable procurement policy for the City of Winnipeg.

Through SpeakUpWinnipeg, we’ve identified some actions that can be completed over the next 24 months. These actions respond to community priorities and bring us closer to our vision. While we continue to work as a community to complete OurWinnipeg, the City will work with partners to start taking action right away.
Visit one of the eight Call to Action Open Houses for OurWinnipeg in November. OurWinnipeg Team Members will be available to answer questions about the Call to Action and the OurWinnipeg process.
