Paths. Streets. Transportation corridors. All of them play a vital role in the city. Besides moving goods and people, street design formulates the view of a city and also the way we use a street. A street designed with pedestrians in mind provides a pleasant walking environment and creates a sense of safety. On the other hand, a street designed to move only cars, trucks and buses (a freeway!) has no characteristics that enhance the pedestrian experience...
